Kula, the Premium Vegan and Gluten-Free Ice Cream, Premiers Coffee Flavor at Bristol Farms Locations
Kula Ice Cream features its new bold, bright packaging on the shelves at Bristol Farms.
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Oct. 12, 2022 - Southern California’s favorite vegan and gluten-free ice cream, Kula, is now stocked in all 14 Bristol Farms stores in the greater Los Angeles area. For the first time, customers can buy pints of But First, Coffee in grocery stores, in addition to the cult favorites Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Lava Cake, Chocolate Cookie Monster. But First, Coffee is a cashew based coffee ice cream filled with vegan, fair trade, and organic dark chocolate covered espresso beans.
This new expansion for Kula adds to its current Southern California grocery distribution at Gelson’s and at local San Diego stores.
Kula premiers new packaging on freezer shelves at Bristol Farms. The brightly colored pints are a call-out to conscious consumers signaling that Kula’s ice cream is always vegan and gluten-free. The brand's mission is for everyone - including those with dietary restrictions - to be able to enjoy dessert.
Libby Lefanowicz, the Owner and Founder of Kula says that she created Kula out of necessity: “Because I had to eat dairy- and gluten-free, I wasn't able to share desserts with my loved ones. So, I created what I couldn’t find at the grocery store: delicious dairy free ice cream with tons of gluten-free goodies mixed in!”
Looking forward, Lefanowicz hopes to grow Kula outside of California! “I want Kula to be a vegan and gluten-free brand that is recognized nationwide! I know there are so many people that struggle to find delicious vegan and gluten-free ice cream all over the country, and I can’t wait for them to try Kula!”

When Libby Lefanowicz found out she had to eat a dairy-free and gluten-free diet, she felt
excluded from her favorite desserts. And she was not alone. So many people struggle with food intolerances - and regular ice cream won’t cut it! So in 2019 Libby created Kula, the dairy-free frozen dessert that actually tastes like real ice cream and is loaded with gluten-free goodies!
