What is Kula?​

Inspired by the word "Kula," used by the yoga community to mean "inclusion" or "belonging," we are on a mission to support equality in life and in dessert. Here at Kula Ice Cream, we imagine a world where everyone can come together over a bowl of ice cream without judgement or exclusion!

Is Kula Ice Cream vegan friendly? 

Yes! Our flavors are all plant-based and vegan friendly. Our products are free of all animal products and by-products — including meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy, honey, gelatin, lanolin, confectioner's glaze, and carmine. We source our products from the best suppliers including organic and non-GMO ingredients as much as possible. Some of our inclusions (chunks, sauces, sprinkles, etc.) contain sugars that are refined, so be sure to check that all ingredients are appropriate for you! Check out our ingredients list here.

Is Kula Ice Cream gluten-free? 

Yes! We never include any products containing wheat or other gluten containing grains. We hand craft our flavors in an a dedicated gluten-free kitchen to prevent any cross contamination.

Everyone!! Kula wants everyone to celebrate the sweetness without sacrificing taste by offering vegan,  gluten-free, and nut-free options.

Since your ice cream is dairy-free and vegan, what is it made with if not cow milk?

We use different nut and seed bases instead of dairy. We use peanut, almond, cashew, coconut, and sunflower seed bases! The nut and seed bases give our ice cream a deliciously creamy texture without using any animal products.

Do all your ice creams contain nuts?

Not all of our ice creams contain nuts. We have ice creams made with coconut or sunflower seed bases, and we also have seasonal sorbets (water based). Please review the ingredients for each flavor here to confirm which nuts and seeds are used as the base. Our ice cream is made in a kitchen that produces items that contain peanuts and tree nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts and cashews). Every necessary precaution is taken to avoid cross contamination.

 

Does your ice cream contain soy?

Some flavors do! None of our ice creams have a soy base but some do contain soy lecithin. Check out our ingredients list here.

Do your boozy flavors contain alcohol?

Yes, our booze infused flavors contain a small amount of alcohol ~ < = 2%

Does your ice cream contain any binders or gums?

Yes, we use certified gluten-free Xanthan Gum.

What if I accidentally input the wrong shipping address?

How long does your ice cream stay frozen?

We ship with dry ice, that’s -109.3 degrees. We suggest getting your ice cream into the freezer as soon as possible upon receiving your delivery. Once your ice cream gets to regular freezer temperature it will be super creamy and delicious for up to 8 months (unopened) or 6-8 weeks (once opened)

 

Can I include a note with my order? 

Yes! Use the “add a note” option when checking out. You should find this to the left of your order summary. 

 

How is Kula Ice Cream delivered? 

We ship our ice cream to addresses in CA, NV and AZ once a month! We ship using compostable and recyclable materials!
